It’s almost the end of the year, which means that the New Year is on the horizon. It’s only a matter of time before the slogan, “New Year, New Me” is everywhere.

Are you holding out for January 1 to make some changes?

Have you decided that you’ll just keep binging on sugar or alcohol or both until January 1, and then you swear you’ll give it up?

Are you promising yourself in the New Year that you’ll go to the gym five days a week?

Do you want to loose five or ten or fifteen pounds, but not until you’ve eaten your way through the holidays?

Are you living with your current (bad) habits, promising yourself that you’ll get rid of them in the new year?

I have a secret to tell you.

You don’t have to wait for the New Year to make any changes. You can start today. You can start any day of the week, the month, or the year.

It doesn’t have to be a Monday.

It doesn’t have to be the first of the month or the first of the year.

Start small. Do one thing different that aligns you with your goals. You don’t have to change everything overnight, and in fact you shouldn’t. But you do have to start somewhere, and you don’t have to wait until January 1 to do it.

It can all start today.

So what are you waiting for?

Until next time,

Jeri Austin
